Gerald "Scott" Richards

May 5, 1958 — June 15, 2017

On June 15, 2017, Gerald “Scott” Richards of Southlake, TX answered our Lord’s call to come home to Him. Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Molly Elizabeth Fowler Richards, of Southlake, TX, his three Eagle Scout sons, William Scott Richards of Tempe, AZ, Walter Scott Richards of Austin, TX and Ansel Scott Richards of Chicago, IL, and precious daughter Kelley Anne Richards of Southlake, TX. He was the son of Doris Collvins Richards Feldmann, and the late Dr. Gerald Leon Richards. He was also loved by his father and mother-in-law, William McDonald Fowler and Dr. Ruth Kelley Fowler, brothers and sister-in-law, William McDonald Fowler Jr. and Gary and Joan Kelley Fowler Gluys, and his nieces, nephews and cousins.

As a faith filled man, Scott was a devoted husband, father and son, the quintessential family man. He championed his children’s every endeavor. He achieved extraordinary success in his career, serving as a CPA with Ernst & Young and Vice President of Audit at MBNA America and Progressive Waste Solutions. Scott was a graduate of John Glenn Jr. High and Central High School in San Angelo, Texas, where he was recently inducted into the Bobcat Hall of Fame as a member of the 1975 State Championship Golf Team. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with honors at The University of Texas at Austin, and went on to achieve his Masters of Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas, where he graduated with highest honors and was named Outstanding Graduate Student by the faculty. He loved the outdoors, sports, scouting, the Carroll Cross Country Dragons, and the Texas Longhorns.

Scott’s consummate legacy is imprinted on the lives and souls of his family, friends, colleagues and everyone he encountered.
