Geraldine Bortko, Gerry, passed away on Sunday, May 15th in Keller, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Ambassador, and Dancing Queen to all that knew and loved her. She was born on September 1, 1928, the youngest of 6 sisters. She lived in an orphanage for a time when her father passed. She was married to Walter Bortko, Sarge, for 53 years until he passed in 2007. She supported his military career as a military wife until he retired. She missed him every day but picked herself up by her boot straps and carried on for 15 years after he was gone. She is survived by her Son and Daughter, Steve Bortko and Nancy Zorn, Son-in-Law Mike Zorn, Grandsons Nick and Jasen Zorn, Granddaughter-in-Law Rachel Zorn, soon to be Granddaughter-in-law Chandler Roberts, two grandpuppies Bailey and Piper and four great grandpuppies. Gerry's greatest accomplishment was the person she was. Everyone who met her loved her for her energy, patience, kindness and spunk. She loved to dance and loved her family. Up until Sunday, she would go to exercise 3 days a week, line dance once a week, started taking yoga and loved to play cards and games. She was a member of The Red Hat Society, social organization celebrating mature women. She was small but mighty.
