Geraldine “Geri” Laird Levassar, 78, entered her heavenly home on September 7, 2022. Born to parents Ira T. “Rip” Laird and Mattie Mae O’Quinn Laird on November 14, 1943, Geri was the 6th born of the 10 daughters and 2 sons of her parents.
Geri spent much of her early life in Saratoga, Texas where she was a member of the first graduating class of West Hardin High School in May, 1962. A long-time resident of Groesbeck, Texas, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Keller where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and sharing what she learned from her Bible. Geri was also an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sudoku puzzles. She also was an active volunteer, first at Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck from 2013-2022 and then at Haltom City Library after moving to Haltom City.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of thirty-six years, Don Levassar, and her siblings Joyce Flowers, Earlene Robertson, Iris Loftin, Glenda Laird, June Hubert and Jeff Laird. She is survived by her daughters Debra Bacon (husband, Duane) and Natalie Miller (husband, John) and their families. Her grandchildren are Chelsea and husband David Pena; Haley and husband Joshua Florence; Jake Starks; Kimberly and husband Michael Trahan; Dallas and husband Torey Toucheque; John Miller, Jeorge Miller and wife Jada. Her great grandchildren are Landon Florence, Skyler and Asher Trahan. Geri is also survived by her siblings, Melba Goode, Betty Irby, JD Laird, Margaret Hoffman and Cathy Hoke.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 – 10:00 am at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. Funeral services for Mrs. Levassar will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 10th in the chapel at Lucas Funeral Home. Reception to follow at John and Natalie Miller’s home, 5792 Fawn Court
Haltom City, Texas 76137.
Private interment will follow at a later date to be held at Old Bethel Cemetery in Frankston, Texas.
