Glen R. Schneider, Jr., 74, passed away on February 3, 2020 in Grand Prairie, TX. He was born July 20, 1945 in New York to Glen & Edna Schneider. Glen grew up around the world and graduated high school from Wheelus High School, on Wheelus AFB, located in Tripoli, Libya. After high school he continued being a scuba instructor and moved forward with career enlistment in the U.S. Navy, serving for over 25 years, eventually retiring after achieving the rank of AMSC. He received numerous commendations and served during periods of war, earning the following medals: National Defense Service, Navy Expeditionary, Navy Achievement (2), Navy Good Conduct (5), and Navy Commendation. After military service, he also subsequently worked for United Airlines and finally retired from Bell Helicopter. Golfing, fishing, and model airplanes were his most passionate hobbies. Glen was unmarried with no children and was preceded in death by his parents, Glen & Edna Schneider, as well as his sister, Patricia Edwards. Glen is survived by his only niece Diane “Dee Dee” Edwards. Due to military burial at sea a private memorial mass will be held for him and cherished memories will continue to be of great comfort to his family and friends.
