Glenda Carole Esslinger Coley, of Saginaw, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2019 in Saginaw, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, teacher, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on November 21, 1941, in Danbury, Texas to Walton Maurice Esslinger and Nonie Roark Esslinger. She met her husband, Louie Dwaine Coley, while in college. They married on February 23, 1963, and were married for over 56 years at the time of her passing. Glenda from a young age had a strong love for Jesus. Her eyes would light up anytime she talked about Him, and she loved sharing her faith with others. Glenda had a love of art from a young age. She worked hard and put herself through college, earning a Bachelor’s degree and eventually a Master’s degree. She was an art teacher in the public school system for 35 years, most of which were in Deer Park, Texas. She loved her students and made an impact in many lives over the years. Glenda is survived by her husband, Louie Dwaine Coley, of Saginaw, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Coley Crumpton and J. Darren Crumpton, of Saginaw, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Coley, of Keller, Texas, and Jodi Coley of Saginaw, Texas; two grandchildren, Samuel Dwaine Coley and Gabriella Marie Coley; a sister-in-law, Joyce Esslinger Wright of Tyler, Texas; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kellis White and Betty Coley White of Athens, Texas; two nieces, Donna Esslinger Roberson and Shannon Esslinger; and two nephews, Mark White and Scott White. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walton Maurice Esslinger and Nonie Roark Esslinger, and her brother, Jerry Don Esslinger. Her Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Athens Baptist Church in Athens, Texas, on November 16, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to East Texas Food Bank.
