Glennis Marie Butler

May 31, 1933 — April 7, 2020

Glennis Marie (Sis-Sis) Butler went on her last journey, April 7, 2020, just in time for the Pink super moon.

A resident of Justin TX, she was born May 31, 1933 in Pheba MS; one of three children to the late Carrie Mae and Floy Sizemore. Her brothers, Tom and Harper, preceded her in death.

She graduated from Pheba High School and went on to Nursing school in Greenwood MS, earning her degree in 1955. She married the late William (Billy) Butler in 1956 and spent the next 20 years as a dedicated Air Force wife. After Bill’s passing, she moved back to West Point Mississippi to be with family and friends. Always looking for a new adventure, she moved to Eagle River Alaska in the early 1990’s. Glennis loved traveling and spent her retirement years as a ‘snowbird’, journeying up and down the west coast. She made many friends throughout her long life and enjoyed keeping in touch with all of them.

Glennis is survived by her daughters, Fran (George) From, Ann Peay, Kym (Mark) Ward, Grandchildren, Travis (Jennifer) From, Emily From, Chris (Geidy) Peay, the late Dustin Peay, Jacob and Cove Ward. She had an extra special relationship with her great grandchildren, Charlie and Ben From and Sophia, Nicholas and William Peay. She also had a loving relationship with her nieces and nephews in Mississippi, Sonny Sizemore, Donna Lynn (Doopie) Cox, Melissa Wilson, and Bill Sizemore, and all their spouses and children.

Her beloved dog Willie left her side last year, and her faithful dog Precious, was with her until the end.
She will truly be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
