Gloria Gregson, 86, passed away September 17, 2019 in Fort Worth, TX peacefully in her sleep. She was born on November 23, 1932 in Phoenix, AZ to Thomas and Lillian Sparks. Gloria spent her childhood in Phoenix, AZ with her father, mother and younger sister, Marilyn. The family moved to Dallas, TX when she was 10. Gloria attended W.H Adamson High School in Dallas. She then married John Gregson in 1950 (they were married for 60 years at the time of John's passing in 2011). She worked for the phone company in Dallas, together they lived in various locations in TX, and ultimately raised their family in Orange, CA. Upon retirement John and Glo built their dream home in New Castle, CA and later returned to Fort Worth, TX to live out the rest of their lives.
Gloria loved gardening, cooking, antique shopping and most of all spending time with her family. She volunteered to help with many of her children's activities and always extended hospitality to all who came into her home. She enjoyed refinishing antique furniture as well as new furniture her husband handcrafted.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was an exceptional homemaker and never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by parents, Thomas A Sparks and Lillian Mae Sparks; and husband John Clay Gregson.
Gloria is survived by 3 Children: Vicki Gaugler (husband Jim), Karen Thompson (husband Jim), Marilyn Chronik (husband Doug); 6 Grandchildren: Joseph Gaugler, Kristell Hodges (husband Christopher), John Gaugler (wife Sarah), Jackie Thompson, Erica Chronik, and Audrey Chronik; 3 Great Grandchildren: Landon Hodges, Ashlynn Hodges and Madilynn Hodges; sister Marilyn Ehrhardt and many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Gloria's Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 11:00 AM at Trinity Terrace in Ft Worth, TX with a reception following.
