Gloria Encinas Ongmanchi, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025.

She was born on March 4, 1931, in Gubat, Sorsogon, Philippines, to Fausto Encinas and Francisca Fajardo. She spent her early years in Gubat, where she attended Gubat Central School and Gubat High School before continuing her education at Albay Normal School.

Gloria spent many years as a teacher at Fort Bonifacio Elementary School. As a dedicated educator, her passion for teaching and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on countless lives.

On July 4, 1955, Gloria married the love of her life, Benedicto R. Ongmanchi, and together they built a family filled with love, resilience, and warmth. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose kind presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She found great joy in cooking for her family, solving word search puzzles, and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Benedicto R. Ongmanchi, and her daughter, Lizabeth O. Caskey. She is survived by her loving children: her daughters, Bella, Maria Teresa, and Milagros; her sons, Rodel and Gerry; and her children in-law: Wazir, Douglas, Naotaka, Eva, Salvacion, Ezekiel, and Rachel.

Gloria’s lasting legacy also lives on through her 17 grandchildren: Victor, Ross, Sarah, Shihab, Jason, Aimee, Justin, Emi, Naoto, Eriko, Paula, Bea, Kyla, Shiela, Sophia, Geo, and Hannah; as well as her 6 great-grandchildren: JV, Keila, Margaux, Hayleigh, Connor, and Alistair.

Gloria's love, wisdom, and unwavering strength will remain in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to gather and remember Gloria.

Family-private viewing will take place before the visitation from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and the rosary service will be from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

To celebrate her remarkable life, a formal funeral is planned for a later date in the Philippines. Her cremated remains will be brought to Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Taguig, Pateros, Philippines to be reunited with her loving husband Benedicto for her final resting.

May she rest in eternal peace.
