Gloria Josephine Sheridan – a resident of Azle, Texas, made the crossing to her promised eternal
home on July 11 th . 2024 with loved ones at her bedside. She had fought a battle with Alzheimer’s
with courage and faith.
Born December 3 rd , 1932, in Chidester, Arkansas, Gloria was the oldest daughter of Lee and
Irene Williams. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Martitia Alford (husband Bob), sons Keith
Sheridan and Randy Sheridan (wife Cindy), and daughter Rene McClung (husband Mark).
Sisters Jeanne Thurmon, Bettie Mills (husband Gary), and Joy West. Along with 15
grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Irene Williams, husband of 57 years, Virgil
Franklin Sheridan, brother Gerald Lee Williams, and son, Dennis Wayne Sheridan.
Gloria was a lifelong learner, avid reader, and puzzle concierge. Later in life, she and Virgil
attended Ozark Bible Institute for three years. She loved to travel and see the country at different
times with her children. At 80, she traveled to Israel and Jordan with her son Randy on a Holy
Land trip.
She grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas. She married Virgil Sheridan and had five children. They
eventually settled in the Burleson—Ft. Worth area to raise their family.
Gloria loved her family, enjoyed her cats, and loved the Lord. She was a member of Faith Creek
Church in Richland Hills, Texas.
A celebration of life service will be at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Chapel in Burleson on July
16th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation prior from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at DFW
National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 17th, at 10:30 a.m.
