North Richland Hills, Texas – On December 29, 2020, Gordon L. Carter was welcomed home and embraced by his loving Heavenly Father.
Gordon was born on September 15, 1933 in Fort Washington, PA to the late John Carter and Jessie (Née Carey) Carter.
After graduating from Springfield High School in 1951 in Erdenheim, PA, he made a selfless decision to join the greatest Navy in the world. He spent two years at the Naval Electronics School in the Great Lakes, graduating 2nd in his class. He then spent two years at Willow Grove Naval Base as a Naval Electronics Specialist. After his military service ended, he worked as an electronics engineer designing and inventing many pieces of equipment.
On May 18th, 1991, he married Billie Jo Carter, the love of his life. Gordon was a brilliant and bright minded individual that influenced many people. Most importantly he loved his Lord and Savior and dedicated his Sundays to North Richland Hills Baptist Church. Gordon was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, husband, and grandfather. He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother John. He leaves behind his wife, Billie Jo Carter, brother Andrew, many nieces and nephews, children: Jana Ryan, Chuck and Jill Compher, Cari Hudkins, step children: Steve and Tawnya Holland, Jim and Marcia Wieting, and Phillip and Margaret Williams and grandchildren: Hope, Sarah Caroline, and Maggie Ryan, Jacob and Claire Compher, Lauren and Grant Hudkins, Kennedy Holland, Ashley Day, and Jonathan Williams.
