NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Grover Wesley Duke, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 19, 2012.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Interment: 1:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: Alzheimer's Association or Lymphoma Leukemia Association.
Wesley was born Feb. 28, 1926, to the Rev. John H. and Bertha Phillips Duke. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Square dancing was a passion for him and Delois. They were named Couple of the Year in 2000 by the North Tex Square Dance Association. Wesley retired from Bell Helicopter after 26 years of service. He was a member of Smithfield United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie and John Duke; sisters, Rosa Gage and Eunice Duke; and grandsons, John Duke and Gregory Wade Buck.
Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Delois; son, Gary Duke and wife, Mary Beth; daughters, Linda Carol Buck and husband, Grady, Dianna Gaye White and husband, David, and Leslie George and husband, Jackie; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Ray Duke and wife, Doris; and several nieces and nephews.
