Gwendolyn Fay (Lynn) Glasscock, age 76 passed away on March 20, 2020 at home with family by her side. She had been under hospice care since January. Lynn was born February 15, 1944 at Harris Hospital in Ft Worth, Texas to Eugene and Mary Ruth Brown. She traveled the world as part of a military family. Attended Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt Germany. Lynn married Carl L Glasscock in December 1961, and widowed in August 1966 with 3 small children.
Lynn completed her Bachelors Degree in Education as well as a Masters Degree. Her teaching career began with kindergarten and 1st grade at Priscilla Tyler Elementary in Dallas Texas, later she taught as a substitute in Birdville Independent School District. A career covering over 30 years of teaching.
Lynn was a caring part of the community, her passion and creativity impacted everyone around her. She was a devoted mother, active in the Emmaus Community as well as Smithfield United Methodist Church. Personal hobbies she truly enjoyed were reading and bowling. Lynn lived life to its fullest by serving others.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Beverly Jean Stevenson and her brother Fred M Brown, her husband Carl L Glasscock and her life companion in later years W.H. Long.
Lynn is survived by 3 children, Michael W. Glasscock, Teresa James and Carolyn Senne as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. This number should include the countless number of students, who if nothing else learned they were not victims and that someone cared about their futures.
Due to the current pandemic there is no memorial planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Smithfield United Methodist Church.
