Harold Caney Yates, 90, of Haslet passed away March 07, 2019.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday March 23, 2019 at Keller Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 am at the church.
He was born on September 06, 1928 to Dewey and Mattie Yates in Christoval, Texas. He attended school at Christoval, Lake View, and graduated from Eden High School in 1946.
He later attended Abilene Christian College. He owned and ran Texaco gas stations in Eden and Fort Worth. When it didn't rain in Texas for seven years he spent his time in Harrisburg, PA running a Life Insurance Company. Upon returning to Texas he bought ranches and cowboyed in the Del Rio area, built homes in Kerrville, and farmed in Fredericksburg. He moved to Haslet in 2004 to be close to his oil business in Oklahoma.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife, Delphine, brother James D., granddaughter, Jamie Foster, son, Harold Walter, sister, Carolyn Yates Dressler, and son-in-law Dr. Jick Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Elke Berge Yates, two daughters Judie Yates Hill of New Braunfels, Joan Yates Foster (Don) of San Angelo, stepson Kurt Ackermann (Renee) of Keller, sister- in- law Mildred Benson Yates, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 16 great grans, nieces and nephew, many dear friends, a loving church family, and a special friend Nancy Johnson.
Harold was an avid business man. He loved his country and Family, but most of all he loved the Lord. He read his Bible and prayed every day. We would like to extend a special thank you to "Holy Savior Hospice" who took such good care of Harold. Donations may be made to the
