Harriette S. Zeppelin, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2022, at the age of 88. Her life was well lived, and she was well loved.
She was born on December 12, 1933, in East Orange, New Jersey to David and Edna Fish.
In August 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert C. Zeppelin and moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania. Always one for taking care of others, she spent years as a brilliant wife, mother, and caring nurse.
Harriette was a warm and compassionate person who always had a pot of coffee on, welcoming you to stay for a chat. She loved in a way that could light up your soul.
Harriette’s greatest pleasures included playing Yahtzee, doing puzzles, and telling stories. She had a knack for arts and crafts that became synonymous with holidays and family gatherings. She was known for always doing something special to celebrate and spend time with others, most notably her knack of writing special notes and her life stories to share during family gatherings. Her intricate gingerbread houses were truly a sight to behold; ranging from grand chapels to simple Christmas village houses, each one was a masterpiece born of love.
Harriette loved so many and was loved by so many more. She had a special energy about her that was rooted in unconditional love. She was truly a “Grammie” to all, caring for those around her with inspiring devotion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Zeppelin; sister, Nancy Howell; brother, David Fish; her parents, David and Edna Fish; and beautiful children: Robert Scott Zeppelin, Cindy Lee Zeppelin, Kathy Lee Zeppelin and Bill Olinger.
This gentle, caring, and wonderful woman has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and she will be forever missed by her children: Debbie Giancotti, Gary Steven Zeppelin (Soni), Thomas Scott Zeppelin and Raymond Olinger (Susan); her grandchildren: Kylie Giancotti Bower (Matt), Steven Zeppelin (Michelle), Steven Giancotti and Ashley Zeppelin Short (Adam); and her six beautiful great grandchildren.
Harriette will be laid to rest back home in Pennsylvania at Pulaski Cemetery next to her husband, at a simple family graveside service.
