Harry Lester Crawford
July 26, 1945-Dec. 15, 2020
Harry Lester Crawford died peacefully in the early morning Tuesday in Fort Worth, Texas.
Born in Gallup, New Mexico, Harry was the son of Harry Key and Lelis Mary Trahan Crawford, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Haltom High School in 1964, attended Weatherford Junior College, North Texas State University, Tarrant County Junior College, and served in the Navy.
Harry enjoyed sports, photography, hunting, and music. He began performing as a singer in the sixties and took his talent to Casa Manana in the early seventies. He continued to work in theater productions and religious pageants in the Fort Worth area for two decades, and traveled with an evangelist as a soloist ministering through his music. Family and friends asked Harry to sing at special events until the early 2000s, and he continued doing so for fellow patients, and caretakers in his care facility.
Professionally, Harry drafted and detailed HVAC system plans as a private contractor, and for the Demoss Company, Dyna-Ten Corporation, and Trinity Contractors. He worked on Fort Worth landmark projects such as The Worthington Hotel, Trinity Valley School, and the Bass Performance Hall, where he used his singing talent to entertain the sculptor of the angels during breaks from his drafting work.
Surviving Harry are his daughter Jennifer Gibbs and her husband Mike, sons Joshua Crawford and Jacob Crawford, grandchildren Hannum, Karsen, Lily, Alex, and Kohen, sister Leita Coleman and her husband Kenneth, sister Emma Dickens, four nephews, a niece and a host of dear friends.
