It is with great sadness that the family of Harry Matthew Holden, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, announce his passing on Friday, October 30, 2020. He will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, and good friend to all who knew him. He was born May 5, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harry M. Holden Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Runyon) Holden. Harry served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and rose to the rank of First Sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Bliss Air Defense in El Paso, TX with subsequent tours in Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. After retiring from the Army, he moved his wife and daughter to South Florida, to be close to family, and where he was employed as an assistant at Frederic H. Berlowe Associates, Inc. He was an active member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church and was an avid sports enthusiast and jack of all trades. Harry and his wife, Carolyn, had just moved to Fort Worth, Texas, September of 2019 to be close to their daughter. He was liked by many and never met a stranger. If asked, his proudest accomplishment was his daughter, Elizabeth.
Harry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughter Elizabeth Anne of Euless, Texas; nieces Joanne Acosta of Duluth, Georgia and Laura Kerns of Medford Lakes, New Jersey; nephews Mark Acosta of Duluth, Georgia, Scott Kerns and wife, Colleen, of Medford Lakes, New Jersey, and Darren Kerns and wife, Shannon, of Washington D.C.
