Helen Tyler Bixler

Helen Bixler, 82 of Joaquin, TX passed away on June 23, 2016 in Fort Worth, TX. Helen was born in Shelbyville, TX on April 26, 1934 to J.T. and Rachel Tyler. She was the Valedictorian for her 1952 graduating class of Joaquin High School. She then continued her education at the University of Houston and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As her family would say, she was the happiest when she was learning so she continued her studies and received her Master’s in Education from the University of Arizona. She was a former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge #903 in Joaquin, TX.
She is survived by her son, Richard Bixler and his wife Carol of Gilbert, AZ.
Daughter, Vicki Schafer and her husband Stephen of Fort Worth, TX.
Sister, Juanita Beasley of Joaquin, TX.
Her grandchildren,
Michael Bixler
Martin Schafer and his wife Julianne.
Daniel Bixler and his wife Naomi, and their children Joseph and Jazlin.
Nichole Bixler, and her children Shelby, Austin, Ian, and Carter.
Sister in law, Margie Tyler.
Niece’s,
Sharron Shanz, and her children Mary Rachel and Tyler.
Lesa Tyler Parmer, and her daughter Addison.

She is preceded in death by
Husband, John Gideon Bixler.
Brother, Doug Tyler.
Parents, J.T. Tyler and Rachel Tyler Henry.
Great Grandson, Jaxson Bixler.

Memorial services for Helen will be held on Sunday June 26, 2016 at two o’clock in the afternoon at First United Methodist Church of Logansport, visitation immediately to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church for the purpose of a new sign.
