Helen Marie (Davis) Blackburn was born on September 14, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Rev. Robert Paul Davis and Lillian Russell (Tevebaugh) Davis. Helen passed away on November 6, 2022 in North Richland Hills, Texas at the age of 98 years old.
She was a graduate of Roanoke High School and worked at Monnigs and then later at Stripling-Cox. She was a member of Eastridge Church of Christ then later at Midtown Church of Christ and then eventually loving her church family at Birdville Church of Christ. She loved the Lord and was devoted to reading and studying her Bible. She enjoyed traveling, and playing cards and dominoes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.W. Blackburn, her son, Bobby Blackburn; grandson, Daniel Wooley and siblings, John, Tom, Guy, Bill, Ann, Maybell, Betty, and Josephine.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Snodgrass and husband, Martin of Carson City, Nevada; Brenda Yarbrough and husband, David of Haltom City, Texas; and Dale Blackburn and wife, Susan of Sarasota, Florida; daughter-in-law, Jan Blackburn of Richland Hills, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Blackburn and wife, Anne, Bryce Blackburn, Barrett Blackburn and wife, Jennifer; Angie Smajstrla and husband, Rick, Amy Defibaugh and husband, Ben, Tina Dumith and husband, George, Clay Snodgrass and wife, Terry, Vivian Dorsett, Lori Burch and husband, Jeff, Melanie Jones and husband, Daniel, Mariah Blackburn, Micaela Brooks, Victoria Ham, and Cassandra Ham; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Kaley, Alexa, Alicia, Amanda, Sean, Mason, Sofia, Kagen, Kolby, Madison, Zach, Bella, Jillian, Raelyn, Dylan, Breyson, Gisselle, and Kasen; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Des Steyn and David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Medlin Cemetery.
