HURST -- Helen Elizabeth Cross, 95, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2015.
Funeral: A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday in the Chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Visitation: 6-8:00 pm Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home. Interment: A private family graveside will be held at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Helen was born January 6, 1920 in Rhome, Texas to the late Charles and Rachel Payne. She grew up in Rhome and attended North Texas Agriculture and Military School in Arlington, now UTA. It was there in the library that she met the love of her life, Joe Warren Cross. They were married for nearly 73 years when he passed away in 2011.
Helen was a proud and active member of Richland Hills Christian Church.
Survivors: Son, Joe Warren Cross, II; daughters, Linda Holley and Janis Burckhard and husband James; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and extended family members.
