Henry George Bauer Iii

September 10, 1948 — December 1, 2020

Henry G. “Sonny” Bauer, III, 72, loving husband and best friend to his wife of 47 years, Jean, departed to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ December 1, 2020 at 6:09 pm. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and community for his quick-witted sense of humor, his ability to become your friend, his kind-heartedness and his life-long passions of geyser watching in Yellowstone, FORD vehicles, airplanes and airports, a good dark beer and his beloved TULANE GREEN WAVE. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, December 15, at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 SW Johnson Street, Burleson. For those who are unable to attend but wish to participate you can view the service at Charity Lutheran Church Facebook page or by the following link: https://video.ibm.com/channel/23855904/video/jz8lof
He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but grew up and lived in Arabi, LA and later relocated to Burleson, Texas in 2006 due to Hurricane Katrina. He grew up working in the family moving and storage business (H. G. Bauer Moving and Storage) and becoming President of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association and President of the Young Men’s Business Club. Later he purchased his own moving and storage business in Cleburne, Texas (Bauer Moving and Storage). After selling his business in 1989, he joined AFLAC and served as an independent sales agent for the past 25 years.
He was a devoted and faithful servant of the word and a member of Charity Lutheran Church (Burleson, TX) serving as a Kuester for many years. Upon moving to Burleson, he joined a networking group, the Burleson Business Connections and the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce and became a Diplomat, receiving the Diplomat of the Year in 2016 (a humbling honor for him).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry G. Bauer, Jr and Noel Schmidt Bauer and in-laws, Lawrence A. Ritter and Doris Chappuis Ritter.
He is the brother of Peter S. Bauer and Mark Bauer (deceased).
Jean wishes to extend her love and gratitude to dearest friends, John and Joann, her special family of friends at Charity Lutheran Church, the Burleson Business Connections members and all her co-workers and students at Hill College.
In lieu of flowers, Jean requests memorial donations be made to Charity Lutheran Church, 1101 SW Wilshire Blvd, Burleson, Texas 76028; ELDONA Seminary Support, c/o Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 North Park Avenue, Herrin, Illinois 63948 or Harvest House, 349 NW Renfro Street, Burleson, Texas 76028.
