HERMELINDA Sanchez Cener, better known as “Mella”, was born on October 28, 1934 in Parras, Coahuila, Mexico to Blas Sanchez Medina and Antonio Velasquez Chavez. She was one of eight children and the survivor of all.She left this earth on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 4:15 am. in Fort Worth, Texas at her home with her family around her. During the 1950's, The Sanchez Family moved to Juarez, Mexico, where at the tender age of 18, she met the love of her life, Henry Cener at the La Florida Restaurant in Juarez Mexico. What appeared to be a problem when Henry proposed to Mella was the fact that he didn’t speak Spanish and she didn’t speak English. Under the careful tutelage of a taxi cab driver, Henry learned how to propose to Mella in Spanish and Mella’s life turned into a wonderful kalidioscope of life. During their marriage, Mella and Henry had six children and she is survived by five children and their spouses: San Juana Walker and husband, Steve Walker of Illinois, David Cener and wife, Winnie Cener of Fort Worth, Texas, Faith Lily Kufer and husband, Josef Kufer of Garmisch Partenkirchen Germany, Robert Cener and wife, Tammy Cener, Fort Worth, Texas and Barry Cener and wife, Becky of El Paso, Texas. Henry Cener passed away in December 1997 in El Paso, Texas, and on March 26, 2008, her son, Steve Cener passed away, also in El Paso, Texas. She is survived by her Grandchildren: Bertha “Birdie” Walker, Jon Walker, Kira Noel Cener-Sparkman, Cameron Lee Cener, Katrina Kufer , Maximilian Kufer, Natalie Cener, Joshua Cener and Rebecca Cener of El Paso, Texas Great grandchildren: Stephanie Walker, Katie Walker, Milo Sparkman and Oliver Sparkman, and Great great granddaughter Adeleigh Bennett.
