Hermann Luebbert, 98, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015.
His family will celebrate his life privately at a later date.
Hermann was born March 10, 1917, to Frederich Johann Luebbert and Luisa Dorsten in Osnabrueck, Germany.
He was a professional barber and immigrated to the U.S. on May 11, 1954, with his wife, Margarete, and two sons.
In 1956 he began his barber career in Newburgh, N.Y., where he operated two barber shops. He did this until he moved to his beloved farm in Saugerties, N.Y., in 2005.
Hermann's hobbies included soccer, gardening and working on his farm, and he loved animals. He will always be remembered as hardworking, a helper, and a stranger to no one.
Hermann spent the last two years in Keller with his son, Harold, but his heart was always on his farm.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margarete Kipker, in 1962; and his second wife, Else Mueller, in 2008.
Survivors: Sons, Harold Luebbert and his wife, Diana, and Hans Luebbert; grandchildren, Eric Luebbert, Kim Williams, Shelly Spikes and Stacey Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Matthew, Benjamin, Justice and Landry.
