Hideko Whisenhunt

October 14, 1943 — August 27, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the funeral services and ceremonies to honor the life of the esteemed Hideko Whisenhunt. Hideko, born on October 14, 1943, on Izena Island in Okinawa, Japan, peacefully passed away on August 27, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A graduate of Okinawa University in Naha, Mrs. Whisenhunt cherished her family and the time spent with her grandchildren. She found joy in caring for her pets and tending to her beloved garden, where she delighted in watching her spring bulbs bloom. Her love for nature and sports, particularly football and basketball, was accentuated by her unwavering support for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hideko Whisenhunt was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Tsuneko, and her grandson Jacob Gueits.

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Billy Whisenhunt, and her adoring children Jason Collins (Jeanett), James Collins, and Jean Gueits (Ramon). Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Joshua Collins, Junior Collins, Jayson Collins, Jordan Collins, Elizabeth Collins, Justin Gueits, and Elisa Gueits, who she loved dearly.
