Hisako Conley

December 30, 1935 — September 8, 2017

Born in December 1935 in Fukuoka, Japan, Hisako grew up in a large family of 9 brothers and 1 sister. In the mid-1960’s she met and married her husband, Bill, who was in the United States Marine Corps. They settled in Chicago, Illinois where she became a step-mother to Bill’s daughter, Billi Jean, and about a year later Bill and Hisako had their son, Mike. Over the next 20 years, they lived in Illinois, North Carolina, and Georgia before finally moving to Texas in the mid-1980’s.

Hisako loved her little dog, Fuji, but she was most happy being outside, tending to the yard and garden. In the early 2000’s she became a caregiver to her ailing mother-in-law, and then eventually, to her husband, Bill. Both preceded her in death. From 2007-present she lived with her son, Mike, daughter-in-law, Audrey, and grandsons, Ben and Zach in Texas. Hisako loved playing cards and Dominoes with her grandsons, while watching them grow. She was the most gracious, selfless and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family always came first for her, and she never wanted anything for herself at all.

For the past few months, Hisako struggled with a rare Autoimmune Paraneoplastic Neurological Disorder caused by a malignant lung tumor, and on Friday, September 8, The Lord took her home peacefully. She is survived by her son, Mike, step-daughter, Billi-Jean, and 6 grandchildren.
