Howard Stone

KELLER -- Howard O. Stone, 92, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in Keller.        Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Keller, 1025 Johnson Road, Keller. Private interment: Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. No visitation: per request of family.        Howard was a proud World War II veteran. He served his country and also served the state, the community and the parks and recreation department as a dedicated and devoted volunteer for more than 18 years including his service for nine years as Texas Silver-Haired Legislator, five years on the Tarrant County Council of Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County, three years on the Northeast United Way Senior Issues Committee, three years on the board of directors of Tarrant County Senior Services Council, three years as president of Tarrant County Senior Advisory Council and 11 years as the president of the Keller Senior Activities Center Advisory Council.        Special thanks to Silverado Hospice and eternal gratitude to long-term caregivers, Mayra and Cruz.        Survivors: Loving wife, Betty; six children; brother, Keith Stone; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
