Hugh Lane Beasley

Hugh Lane Beasley, also known to many in his family as “Sam,” passed away on January 27,2025. He was the 8 th child (of eleven) born on the 8 th day of the 8 th month (August) in 1932 in Oneonta, Alabama to William Henry Beasley and Mae Bell Hunt Beasley.

He loved his country and proudly served in the Army Special Forces from the American occupation in Germany and Japan following WWII through five combat tours in Korea and Vietnam. After 22 years of service, he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant.

Hugh was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tuyet Le Beasley, his son Keith and daughter-in-law Masha Zavarskaya, his daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Michael Higginbotham, his six grandchildren Haley, Megan, Connor, Joshua, Lily, and Toben, his youngest brother Bill Beasley and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

His funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 31st at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, TX. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
