Ida Smith

March 11, 1918 — January 20, 2013

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Ida Maude Smith, 94, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.

Graveside: 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Ida was a elementary school teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Birdville Independent School District, she was a graduate of Louisiana State University and member of the North Richland Hills Baptist Church including the Joy Sunday School class. She had a special talent for organizing and planning parties and events. She wrote poetry, short stories, was into genealogy, and spending time with her family.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, John Hugh Smith; brother, Arthur Nicholas Smitham; and sister, Jean Garland Brown.

Survivors: Daughters, Jean Yarborough and Lynn Lemings; grandchildren, Vicki and Matt Fitzgerald, Charla and John Blizzard, Donna and Ashley Yablon, Tara Lemings and Skyler Lemings; great-grandchildren, Blake, Brady and Brooks Blizzard; and numerous loving nieces and nephews in Texas.
