Idis married Lee Anne Lamond in 1998 in Bedford, TX, and they were happily married for 23 years. Idis was an active member of several different churches over his 81 years. He enjoyed helping others, be it in the community or on mission trips. He was an excellent carpenter, and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife.
Idis was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Barry Goddard.
Idis is survived by his spouse Lee Anne of Burleson; sons, Wade and wife, Claudia, and Ilan; daughter, Ashley; siblings, Aron and wife, Nancy, Valerie Brady, Carol Spady, and Resa Moore and husband, Bud; grandchildren, Jordan Skinner, Zane Skinner, Ethan Skinner, Aiden Skinner, Jared Goddard, Haven Goddard, Jordan Lamond, Nicholas Lamond, Blair Broughton, and Bryce Broughton.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful people who treated Idis like a treasure at Heritage Place Assisted Living where Idis resided since August 1, 2020; to St. Gabriel Hospice Service who provided such excellent and compassionate care to him and Lee Anne during his last several weeks; to all their friends from Compass Christian Church in Colleyville, TX, and First Baptist Burleson in Burleson, TX; and to their wonderful friends and neighbors in their community.
Amazing Grace was Idis’s favorite hymn, and he sang it to anyone he could get to stand still long enough to listen! He made so many friends and was a blessing to everyone wherever he went.
