Ima Jean Johnson Wood Prather
Ima Jean Prather, 87, finished her life journey in the home of her son, David Wood of Crowley, Texas on Sunday 15, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday at the Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home Chapel, 518 SW Johnson Ave., Burleson, TX with the family celebrating their memories of her life. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at the Old Snyder Cemetery in Snyder, Texas with her family as pallbearers.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Jean was born on the family farm in Glasscock County, TX on June 5, 1927 to Will and Alva Johnson. She married the late Billy Wood on July 3, 1945 and to the late Robert Prather on January 3, 1989. She was the owner of Jodi’s Ladies Apparel Store for over 25 years with stores in Plainview, Snyder, and Floydada, TX prior to her retirement at the age of 72. Jean had been a member of the Plainview Professional Business Women’s Association and a past volunteer for the Plainview Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies. She was a member of the Burleson, TX. Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, five brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Velma Dean (Deanie) Lilley of Taylor, TX, Donna Baker of Jinotega, Nicaragua; son David Wood of Crowley; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
