Iris Mae Elliott passed away peacefully and went home to Jesus on October 24, 2020. Iris was born on December 3, 1930 to Charles D. Spear and Vivian Spear.
When Iris was 1 year old she and her parents moved to Wright City, Texas where Iris grew up. Iris graduated from New London High School and during her senior year she met and later married the love of her life, Walter A. ("Dub") Elliott. Iris and Dub were married on March 11, 1950 and such marriage lasted 58 wonderful years, ending with the death of Dub in 2008. Iris was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Euless, TX for more than 63 years. She also was a member of the Historical Preservation Committee for the Euless Heritage Museum and enjoyed volunteering there.
Iris is survived by her son, Steven Elliott and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Elliott, of Euless; her daughter, Sheryl Elliott-Laws and her son-in-law, Steve Laws of Bedford; her grandson, Marc Elliott and her granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Elliott, of Hutto; her grandson, Mitchell Elliott, and granddaughter-in-law, Katie Elliott, of Euless; her grandson, Bryce Laws and her granddaughter-in-law, Brittany Laws of Bedford; and her grandson, Barrett Laws of Euless. Iris was also survived by three great grandchildren, namely, Brody Laws, Linley Elliott and Dakota Elliott. Iris was loved dearly by her family and friends. Iris has gone ahead to a much better place and we will rejoice when we see her again.
