Irwin James Williamson was born in Albemarle, Virginia on the second day of November 1946. He was born to his mother, Courtney Beatrice Walker and father James Williamson.
Irwin was a patient and loving husband and father who loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren! He had a passion for cooking for his family; especially breakfast and during the holidays. His specialty was cooking Thanksgiving ham, where he coined the nickname “JJ-Hams.”
He graduated High School and later moved to Bronx, New York where he attended Malcom King Harlem College and received his Associates degree in Applied Science in 1979. He found his way in to dining services, where he worked for many years.
He met the love of his life, Cathy Williamson in Bronx, New York. They married in June 1987 and were married for 35-years. They enjoyed traveling, watching TV, and spending time with family. Anyone that knew Irwin J. knew his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys!
He then realized his true passion for sales. He was employed at Sleepy’s in Wayne, New Jersey, Nissan-South New Jersey, and Lowes in Columbus, New Jersey. After, he transferred to Lowes-Southlake, Texas where he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Williamson and five children: Mandiwa Williamson (Virginia),
Adewunmi (Taiwan) Moore (Texas), Osamide (Donte) Patin (Texas), Dashawn Williamson (Texas), and Anthony Williamson (Texas). Followed by four grandchildren: Ariyana Turner, Elle Moore, Elias Moore, and Nola Patin. He had 24 sister in-laws and 12 brother in-laws. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Thank you to his oncologist Barry Alan Firstenberg at Texas Oncology and hospice services from Vitas!
The family would love to give a special thanks to Osagie E. Egbenoma for his love, care, and dedication to our father!
