J.P. Koval, 83, of Mansfield, Tx. passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2019 at Burleson Memorial Park Cemetery, 500 Memorial Plaza, Burleson, Tx. 76028. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM ( noon ) at the Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson, Tx. J. P. Koval took his last breath on this earth and moved on to his next assignment.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to Meals on Wheels or a charity of choice.
J.P. was born June 30, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to Josephine and Anthony J. Koval. He grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; graduated high school; and went on to attend Kent State University; before serving four years in the U. S. Air Force. Returning to Cuyahoga Falls, he served in the Police Department for several years. Over 30 plus years, he worked in sales and service for numerous companies. After retirement, he spent over ten years in the funeral industry.
He and his wife (the navigator) enjoyed their motor home travels in the Midwestern U.S. and Texas for 15 years.
During his working years, he served as V. P. in Falls Jaycees, President of Cuyahoga Falls Evening Kiwanis, and Founding President of Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society. Living in Texas, he volunteered with Burleson C.E.R.T., Burleson Library Advisory Board, and Burleson Heritage Foundation.
Preceding him in death: Both parents and grandparents, an infant brother, and son David.
Survivors: Wife, Awanda Koval, of 46 years; Sons Guy H. Koval and wife Eldonna, Barberton, OH; Richard A. Mackey and wife Jane, Burleson, TX; Daughter-in-law Lesli Koval, Akron, OH; and many Grand and Great Grand Children—too many to mention.
