Jack Ed Hill

July 5, 1936 — July 10, 2022

Jack Ed Hill, beloved husband, father, father-in-love, Poppie, Great-Poppie, brother and friend went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2022. There will be a celebration of life at Cross City Church in Euless, TX on Thursday, July 14 at 2:00 PM. There will be a private graveside service at Bluebonnet Memorial Park on Friday July 15.
He was born on July 5, 1936 in Silverton, Texas to David Richard Hill and Ethel Elmira Smith Hill and grew up on a farm outside of Tupelo, Oklahoma. He left Oklahoma to attend Radio and Avionics Technical school in Dallas. His roommate brought Jack to a church social, where he met the love of his life, Corenne Elizabeth Lanier Hill. Shortly after school, he joined the Air Force and they married in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 5, 1956. After several years of various Air Force assignments and the birth of their son, Keith, they settled back in Texas and welcomed two more sons, Greg and Rick, into their family. He worked for Associated Air Center for 25 years working up to Executive Vice President before starting his own business, RotorWorld, a global helicopter sales and brokerage company which thrived in large part because of his integrity.
They became faithful and serving members of First Baptist church of Euless (Cross City Church) for over 60 years. During that time, he was a Sunday school teacher, class Director (Joyful Achievers), Deacon, member of the mission work group helping build churches and camps for underprivileged youth, and most recently was appointed Deacon Emeritus.
If you knew Jack, you know he was a hard worker. That is something he instilled in his sons at an early age. Whether it was yard work, DIY projects, cleaning, cooking, serving, you couldn’t out work him. He was persistent, working until the job was done and done well. He was a servant at heart. Taking every opportunity to bring others a meal when they were sick, or groceries if something was needed. He wasn’t one to sit still very long, always wanting to be productive in some way.
Jack enjoyed traveling, coin and gun collecting, reading, and hunting, but most of all he loved his family. He loved his sweetheart, Corenne, with all his heart and served her so well. He loved his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always quick to give big Poppie hugs and kisses whenever they came around. Summers weren’t complete without his homemade ice cream and there was never a brighter Christmas tree than the ones he lit. He filled those branches to the brim and they were exceptionally beautiful.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Corenne, his Father, Mother, Sister Mary Ann, and Brother David Ray.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Keith (Kim), Greg (Pam), and Rick, 6 grandkids, Rebecca (Tyler) Hall, Kaci Hill, Hannah (Todd) Haymans, Meaghan (Aaron) Carder, Katie (Donny) Porter, Clayton (Jocelyn) Hill, 8 great-grandchildren, Casen, Georgia and Cooper Hall, Harrison and Brady Porter, Addison and Charlotte Hill, and Emma, Smith and Beau Haymans. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
While we will miss him terribly, we have great peace knowing he is healed and whole and we will see him again in Heaven.
