Jack Lohse

November 11, 1998 — June 16, 2023

Our beloved son Jack Lohse was born on November 11, 1998 and passed from this earth into the precious arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 16, 2023. Jack was an adored son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend to many. It’s impossible to put into words the light and joy he brought to everyone around him with a contagious laugh and smile that would light up a room. Jack especially adored his younger brother and best friend Ryan and was his biggest champion and cheerleader. Jack had the gift of encouragement and was the first to congratulate others on their accomplishments and celebrate them with so much energy. He had such a heart for others and would never leave anyone out. He never judged or looked down on anyone.
Jack was so expressive, an extremely talented musician, artist, poet, and singer. He played the drums, piano, and guitar as well as composed his own music. You could feel every emotion in his music, and he played straight from the heart in the most creative and passionate ways.
Jack also had a servant's heart. He boldly gave his time and talent on multiple mission trips to Nicaragua, Trinidad, the Dominican Republic and in our local community. Even in death Jack is serving others. He signed up to be an organ donor at age 17 and we joyously granted that request. Jack’s sacrifice has brought new life to four people through the donation of his heart, liver and both kidneys. He will also bring the incredible gift of sight to two grateful recipients. We couldn’t be more proud of him and pray we get to meet these precious souls.
Unfortunately, Jack’s life was accidentally cut short due to fentanyl. We pray that all can come together for the sake of our sons and daughters and put an end to this devastating crisis. No family should have to face this pain, but we lean on the promises and strength of our Mighty God. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever”, Psalm 23.
