Jackie Lee Lawrence Sr.

With heavy hearts, the family of Jackie Lee Lawrence, Sr. announces his passing on July 26th, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 87.

Jackie Lee Lawrence, Sr. was born on March 22nd, 1936 in Atoka, Oklahoma to parents Bonnie Dee (Robinson) and Barney McCoy Lawrence. While living in Redding, California Jackie joined the Air Force in 1954 at the age of 18. Jackie was a career soldier and was an aircraft maintenance technician and a jet engine mechanic during his active duty. He received an Airman's Medal in 1969 and attended the Costal School of Navigation in 1973. After 20 years serving our Nation in the Airforce, Jackie retired in 1974.

During his military career, Jackie met and fell in love with Barbara Jean Hoyle. The pair were married and eventually settled in Texas, raising their five children. Jackie and Barbara adopted their grandson and raised him as their own.

Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Hoyle) Lawrence; and his son Gary Wayne Lawrence.

Jackie is survived by his children, Jackie Lee Lawrence Jr., Cathy Ann Jury, Steven Ray Lawrence, Sharon Denise Wells, Gary Wayne Lawrence II, his three grandchildren, and his five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Jackie on August 18th, 2023 at 2 o’clock pm in the Chapel of the Lucas Funeral home, located in Keller Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Jackie’s honor to his daughter through Treasured Memories Fundraising.
