Jackie was born April 28, 1936 at Whitewright, Texas to Henry Dow Myrick and Cordelia Dena Nevil Myrick. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1955 and went into construction work his brother in law, Ross McWilliams and brother, Rasse Myrick at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM; later moving to Lubbock as a carpenter in residential construction. He met Joellen Jackson, the love of his life, in Floydada in 1957 on a blind date. They were married on April 2, 1958. They farmed for a short period of time then moved to Euless, Texas in 1968, where they have lived for almost 49 years. Jackie worked as a warehouseman for International Harvester until 1976, at which time he became a warehouseman for Chrysler Parts Depot in Carrollton, Texas. He worked there until he retired in November, 1999. At that time, golf became his “job”. As long as he could drive, Jackie traveled all over the USA, but he did take a couple of cruises to make Joellen happy. He loved being with his children and grandchildren and supported them in whatever they attempted. He and Joellen wore out a number of lawn chairs by sitting in and dragging them to whatever the occasion was, baseball or soccer, etc. He loved his Jeep and enjoyed rock climbing, working on classic cars, having one of the prettiest yards in the neighborhood, playing ‘‘42” with his family and friends, and playing Chicken Foot with his kids and grandkids. He now has a great-grandson that he was looking forward to playing with and loving. Jackie belonged to First Baptist Church Euless and had been a Baptist since early childhood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Gloy Myrick and Clovis Myrick, six brothers-in-law, and 3 sisters-in-law.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Joellen; daughter, Lori Myrick McCullough; son, Roy Myrick and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Cory Jack Myrick, Kristen Myrick Bartosh and husband, Jeff, and Jessica McCullough; 3 month old great-grandson, Jackson David Bartosh; brother, Rasse Myrick; sisters, Loweida Bunnell, Aris McWilliams, and Joyce Lipham; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
