Eddie was born in November of 1943 in Los Angeles, California and raised in Fort Worth, Texas where he graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School and went on to attend North Texas State. He married the love of his life Linda Kay in 1966. She and Eddie had met as children and knew each other for most of their lives. They built a home in Smithfield, spending 52 years at that residence, raising one son, Scott, born in 1969. He was involved in Scott’s baseball either as a youth coach or spectator, happily traveling to watch Scott play in high school and in college. Scott met his wife Stephanie at The University of North Texas. Three grandchildren were born from this union and Eddie loved being PaPa to Garrett, Hudson and Scarlett. The kids never doubted how much they were loved and could always count on their grandparents to be there to support their sports. Eddie was a lifelong member of Smithfield United Methodist Church, playing for the church softball team among the many other activities. He worked for 38 years at Mrs. Baird’s Bakery, almost of all of it in the sales department.

Eddie was friendly, hardworking and could always be counted on to take care of his customer’s needs. After retirement, Eddie stayed active, working part time at Diamond E Enterprises in order to fund summer travel to Indiana and NY. All in all, he spent 8 years working for Michele Cannon and was always appreciative of her allowing him to travel for months at a time to watch his grandkids play and grow into the wonderful young people they are today. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cameron and Helen Alread.
