James Bradford

January 8, 1954 — July 18, 2024

James (Jim/Jimmy) Carroll Bradford, beloved father, Poppy, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away with family at his side on July 18, 2024, at the age of 70. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness and humor that touched the lives of many.

Born in Fort Worth, TX, on January 8, 1954, Jim pursued a career in education and technology, making significant contributions to both fields. He served as a teacher at Southwest Christian School, where his passion for teaching and nurturing young minds was evident to all who knew him. Later, he transitioned to become an IT administrator at Texas A&M University of the AgriLife Extension Service, where he played a vital role in supporting the AgriLife community.

Outside of his professional achievements, Jim cherished his role as a father. He was a loving and supportive Dad to his son, Jared Bradford and daughter, Kristen Lookingbill, guiding them with wisdom and encouragement throughout their lives. His greatest joy came from his role as a Poppy to two granddaughters, Emma Courtenay Lookingbill and Taylor Brooke Lookingbill, whom he adored dearly. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Cecile Bradford, and nephew Brian Bradford. He is survived by his brothers Chris & Susan Bradford of Whitney, TX, Michael and Denise Bradford of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and sister Brian & Rebecca Baker of North Zulch, TX and many more beloved family members.

Jim will be remembered for his humor, dedication to his family and profession, and being an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggie fan. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held on September 7th, 2024, at The James Event Center in Joshua, TX from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, it will be come and go reception with a short tribute starting at 6:00 pm.
