James E. Brazzel, 97, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018.
Funeral : 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Bedford Church of Christ. Burial: Bedford Cemetery. Visitation: 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
James was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Fort Worth to Gus and Ethel Brazzel. He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School. James worked at Montgomery Ward where he met Roxie Mae Cannon and they were married in 1942. James served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He and Roxie then bought a farm in Bedford where they lived all their lives. They were members of Bedford Church of Christ. They were married almost 52 years until her death in 1993.James was retired from the City of Fort Worth.
James was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roxie, brother, Charles, granddaughter, Jala Gilbert, and great granddaughter, Kayleigh Bonilla.
Survivors: Daughters, Tanna Blagg and husband Wayne and Jan Owen; grandchildren, Jamie Benson, Lenny Gilbert, Kayla Owen and Lindsey Gibson; seven great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
