James was born April 30, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX to George Gordon Crawford and Kelton Pippin Crawford. He was affectionately nicknamed Punkin and was raised on the family homestead that sits on top of the hill on Dove Road. This is where at the age of 78, he passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
James was married for 48 years to his lovely wife, Kay. Their union created a blended family of seven. Their modest home was filled with love and laughter and was always welcoming.
He had a lifetime of joy, laughter, and hard work. James was employed 38 years at Mosher Steel/Trinity Industries, where he made many friendships that would last a lifetime. He was also a long-time member of the Grapevine Masonic Lodge #288.
After retirement he enjoyed spending most of his time in his garage/ mancave. He put together jigsaw puzzles, doing small projects for friends, and watching sports and westerns with a cold beer. James was a fan of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and the Carroll Dragons. He also enjoyed working in his yard and cutting the grass on his riding lawnmower. He ran many errands for his wife and making friends with all the employees of all the stores he would frequent. James had a big heart and never met a stranger. He was a prankster, a jokester and always had a story to tell. He was an overall warm and loving man that will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
