Adam Davenport, 47, of Hurst, went to live with his Savior on Feb. 10, 2020. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Sonia; parents James and Marian Davenport; sisters Johnna Held, Wendy Adams, and Debbie Davenport; children, Christin, Andrew, Micah, Aaralyn, and Jace Davenport; and a large number of friends who constituted his Edward Jones extended family.
Adam was born on Jan. 4, 1973 in Dodge City, Kansas. In his earlier years, he was a leader of his church youth group, a high school athlete and, at one point, aspired to a career in professional golf.
Adam’s entrepreneurial instincts and work ethic were demonstrated at age 10 when he got his first job delivering newspapers on foot. He became skilled in the electrical and construction trades, having established a successful landscape lighting company and building his own home at an early age.
The highlight of Adam’s professional career was his past 6+ years as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Adam found joy and purpose in combining his love for investment markets with his passion for serving and meeting the needs of others. He served with integrity and compassion, concerned not only for the financial security of his clients but also for their personal well-being.
Adam loved well, and was well-loved in return. He was a devoted follower of Christ and lived his life under the authority of God’s Word. We rejoice in the knowledge that Adam is enjoying the eternal fruit of His faith. He will be greatly missed.
