James Lee Franklin

July 24, 1957 — January 3, 2020

James Lee Franklin, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was a retired Army Sergeant Major, who served his country with distinction.

He was born on July 24, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia to Walter Edward Franklin and Alice Frances Barton. James was a caring, giving and loving man. He was proud to have served his country and he loved the army. He greatly enjoyed his job as a drafting engineer for Pioneer natural resources for 19 years. He love the outdoors and shooting.

James is survived by his mother Alice Barton, his father Walter Franklin, his brothers Danny Franklin, Richard Fergerson and Jubal Fergerson. Also, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Franklin; nieces Keri and Kristin.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Fergerson and his stepfather Royce Barton.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on January 13, 2020 at the Dallas Fort Worth national Cemetery.
