James (Jim) Thompson Yost passed away August 10, 2021 in Keller, TX, with his wife and children by his side.
Jim was born in Circleville, OH on April 20, 1948. He graduated from Wooster High School in 1966 and then attended Tennessee Tech where he played football and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Jim had an impactful career as a human resource executive that spanned 36 years and culminated as Senior VP of Human Resources for Wendy’s International. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time in the yard and exercising, but both of those took a backseat to his family and sports. Football was king, but he enjoyed just about any competition that required keeping score. He did his best never to miss his grandchildren’s activities whether it be football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, water polo, or dance.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Elizabeth (Harpster) Yost. Jim is survived by his wife Bertie, son Jason and his wife Sherri and two children, son Matthew and his wife Shannon and five children, son Jeffrey, and daughter Amanda and three children; brother Stephen Yost, sister‐in‐law Lois Bray, and brothers-in-law Grover and Jimmy Castleberry.
Jim was a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, TX, where services will be held on August 27 at 10:00 AM, in Grace Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or any cancer charity of your choice.
