James W. (Jimmy) Lorimer Jr

October 23, 1963 — October 19, 2020

James W. (Jimmy) Lorimer, Jr. of Southlake, TX passed away on October 19, 2020 after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 23, 1963 in Corsicana, TX to James W. Lorimer, Sr. and Lora Bunyard. His Mom, Paula Lorimer, came into his life in 1968. As a small child, he spent lots of time with his “Nona and Grandaddy” Lorimer and his “Mom” Pugh in Corsicana. He grew up in Irving, TX and graduated from MacArthur High School and Southwest Texas State University. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity at SWTSU where he made many lifelong friends. He lived in Austin, TX most of his adult life. He was employed for 3M Corporation as an Account Representative for the 3M Electronic Materials Solutions Division. He was involved in sales in the Electronics Industry his entire working life. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Austin, TX.

Jimmy excelled at sports and growing up he played football, basketball, baseball and track. He loved all water sports, snow skiing, and going hunting every fall with great KA fraternity friends. He loved aviation and got his pilot’s license as a teenager. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Alexandria Lorimer, who was the light of his life. He loved their father-daughter dances and helping her perfect her athletic skills in all her athletic pursuits. He was a great big brother to his three younger brothers, letting them tag along with him as a teenager. He helped teach them to waterski and play all sports and was a great influence on them as their big brother.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Linnie W. Pugh and paternal grandparents, James and Estelle Lorimer, Corsicana, TX, maternal grandparents, Freeman and Polly Phillips, Pittsburg, TX, and William and Alleyne Bunyard; his uncle, Merritt Bunyard, Springtown, TX and his aunt, Sharon Phillips, Pittsburg, TX and special great aunts and uncles.

Survivors: Daughter, Alexandria Lorimer and her mother, Dr. Melinda Jones, Austin, TX. Jimmy and Melinda married in 1994 and were married for 24 years; Parents: James and Paula Lorimer, Southlake, TX and Lora McGinty, Richland Hills, TX. Brothers and families: Patrick a/k/a Packy (Debbie) McGinty, Christian and Aidan, Castle Rock, CO; Ryan (Jody) Lorimer, Caleb, Hannah and Nathan, Keller, TX; Ross (Courtney) Lorimer, Luke and Kate, Driftwood, TX. Uncles: Thomas Phillips, David (Debby) Phillips and Tim (Tina) Phillips and many special cousins and great friends.

The Celebration of Life will be held on November 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S. Main Street (Highway 377), Keller, TX 76248. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 mandates, there is a limit to the number of people who can attend. A Funeral Mass will be held in Austin, TX at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, TX 78731 on November 20, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. and all are welcome.
