James "Jim" Eldor Meyer, aged 80, passed away on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jim was born February 25th, 1943 in Napoleon, Ohio to loving parents Eldor and Laura (Cordes) Meyer. He grew up in Ohio, attending school in Bowling Green and graduating from Ridgeville High School.
Jim courted the love of his life, Pamela Patton, and they were wed February 1971. Together they raised a family, welcoming 4 beautiful children into the world. The pair were active in their church and Sundays were spent with beloved family; son Jason (Michelle), two daughters Heather (Shane) and Amanda, and their two granddaughters Avery and Rylee. Pam went to be with her Lord in May of 2013.
Jim's love of cars started early as he fell in love with Corvettes and Nascar. In contrast to his need for speed he also enjoyed hot air ballooning. In the spring and summer Jim enjoyed watching baseball. But Jim's biggest loves would always be his family, and spending time with them.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Eldor and Laura Meyer; his brother, Robert "Bob" Meyer; and his wife, Pamela Meyer.
Jim is survived by his son, Jason and his wife Michelle Meyer, along with their children Avery and Rylee; his daughters, Heather and her husband Shane Randell, and Amanda Meyer; his sisters, Connie and her husband John Fry, and Linda with her husband Larry Bostelman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation and rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas, to start at 6 o'clock pm with the rosary at 7.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 29th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton at 10:30am with committal to follow at Bourland Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them for a reception at St. Elizabeth's after the committal.
