James Jennings Taliaferro Jr.

James Jennings Taliaferro Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas with military honors. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.
Memorials: Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of choice.
Jim joined the Air Force and retired as a captain after six years of service. He served 22 missions which included being shot down in North Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Vietnam Veterans Purple Heart and a Silver Star recipient for his heroic work. Jim worked for American Airlines and retired after 32 years of service.
Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Taliaferro; sons, Dan Taliaferro, Anthoney Taliaferro and Jon Taliaferro; and many nieces and nephews.
