HURST -- James Edwin Whitman Sr., 80, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Bedford. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.
James was born to Reginald and Opal on April 27, 1933. He worked for railroads all his life, starting with Great Northern Railroad and retiring with Union Pacific Railroad. James was a talented magician and loved performing for schoolchildren. He married Aggie Schiefen on Feb. 11, 1956, and shared the last 57 years together. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Opal Whitman.
Survivors: Wife, Aggie Whitman; daughter, Vicky Ann Geipe and husband, Hugh; sons, James Edwin Whitman Jr. and Thomas Edward Whitman and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Ryan Geipe, Traci Geipe, Nicholas Crapanzano and Michael Crapanzano; sister, Donna Eklund; and brother, Richard Whitman.
