Jan Elizabeth (Geisler) White
March 13, 1952 - April 12, 2023
In loving memory of Jan E. White, a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. Jan passed away with her family by her side on April 12, 2023 near her home in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Jan is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Geisler, her mothers Kathryn and Bernadine, and her sister Kathy.
Jan was a warm and caring person to all she met, a quality that served her well throughout her career as a Human Resources professional. Jan’s kindness was especially evident in the special place she held in her heart for her nieces, nephews, God-children, and all of their respective children. Her laughter was infectious. It was a truly special day if you could get Jan to laugh so hard that she would end up on the floor – a rare prize sought after by her nephews.
While Jan didn’t meet her husband, Jerry, until she was 53, their love story was true and enduring. After cultivating a budding connection over the phone and living hundreds of miles apart, they were engaged two hours after meeting in person for the first time. Jan would continue to say how lucky and blessed she felt to find the perfect guy for her as she and Jerry loved each other deeply to the end.
To most, Jan was known as the family historian – always ensuring that birthdays and anniversaries didn’t pass unmarked. Those that had the pleasure to know and love her came to rely upon her gentle reminders, and to also expect her concerned calls if any severe weather was anywhere nearby.
Jan will be greatly missed for her caring heart, her joyous laughter, her ability to always lend an ear, offer comfort and advice, and her openness to pray for those in need, even if it was someone she’d just met, and her faith, “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith.” (1 John 5:4).
Jan is survived by her loving husband and “Sweetie,” Jerry, her siblings: Peter Geisler (Brenda), Karlyn Van Gelder (Tom), Mike Ament (Mary Pat), Jan Barnes (Chuck), Rob Ament, Lori Ann Storey (Jack) and her brother-in-law who she viewed as a brother, Larry Baird. Jan is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and God-children whom we know she will continue to watch over from above.
