Jane Marie (Avery) Dunckelman, 81, formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away March 30, 2016 at Riverside Memory Care in Fort Worth, TX. She was surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Jane was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 30, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Doris Avery.
Jane met the love of her life, Wally while attending Syracuse University. They married on June 16, 1956.
Jane retired from the Dayton Public Schools as a Student Assistance Program Specialist. She was passionate about youth and touched many young people’s lives. After retirement, Jane and Wally moved to Murrells Inlet, SC to be near the beach and her cousins, Janet MacEachren and Joanne Drake. She later followed her family to Arizona and then Texas to be near her grandchildren. Jane loved the water, reading and became a master gardener after retirement. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire Riverside Memory Care staff in Texas and special friend and caregiver Rachelle Kubin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; and daughter, Julie.
She is survived by her children Allen (Lisa), grandchildren Anna, MacKenzie and Aidan of Haslet, TX, Thomas of Dayton, OH and Pam (Jim) Murdock of Fenton, MI.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place. Private services will take place at a later date.
