Jane Suddath Theodore

November 5, 1932 — May 14, 2024

Jane Suddath Theodore, age 91, born on November 5, 1932, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away May 14, 2024 in Colleyville, Texas. She was the daughter of Ralph Milton Suddath and Gladys Irene Camp Suddath.

Jane's formative years were spent in Marietta, Oklahoma. She pursued her education with fervor, attending high school and college in Denton, Texas. At the University of North Texas, she excelled both academically and socially, becoming a member of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. In 1954, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. As a young college graduate, she taught physical education before joining Delta Airlines as a flight attendant based in Dallas, Texas. In 1959, she married her surviving husband, Nick Theodore, founder of Keller State Bank in Keller, Texas.

Her lineage was rich with history; her father traced his ancestry back to Peter Pitchlynn, a chief of the Choctaw Nation, and her great-grandfather, Joseph Roff, was the founder of Roff, Oklahoma. Settling in Keller, Texas, Jane devoted herself to raising her four children: Hal, Tracie, Tom and Tim.

Jane had a keen eye for fashion and was always impeccably dressed. Her quick wit and infectious laughter endeared her to all who knew her. She enjoyed traveling and embarked on countless adventures with her bank travel club and her frequent trips to Bulah. She was a devoted patron of the arts, a proud member of the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth and a supporter of various philanthropic causes, including Sierra Club. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and grace that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Nick Theodore, her children, Hal Theodore of Keller, Tracie Jones of North Richland Hills, Tim Theodore of North Richland Hills and Tom Theodore of Ft. Worth, grandchildren, Taylor Theodore, Andrew Jones, Tucker Theodore, Clayton Jones and Rylie Theodore and great-grandchildren, Dawson Theodore, Poppy Jones and Davie Theodore. Also, her sister, Sue Hovey of Ormond Beach, FL. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Betty and Lou, and brother Tom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth in Jane's memory.
